Engaging the Stillwater Community & its Resources
Designed to engage the community and its resources to expand the reach and the impact of the Stillwater Public Library, the Stillwater Public Library Foundation (SPLF) enhances materials selection, program diversity, and trusted services beyond what the city’s tax-based monies provide.
Thanks to generous donations, the SPLF funds:
MATERIALS
New copies of beloved, worn-out books
Up-to-date editions of favorite nonfiction materials
Props and décor for the children’s imagination station
Multiple copies of popular, new books to shorten waiting lists
Support for newspaper subscriptions, which are ballooning in cost
PROGRAMS
Opportunities to learn, connect, and grow intellectually
An awesome summer of enrichment, engagement, and fun for kids
Special programs and classes throughout the year for children, teens, and adults
SERVICES
Sunday hours, which are prized among local patrons
Hearing loops in the Margaret Rivers Room and Stillwater Storytime Room
An invaluable Volunteer Coordinator to arrange timely support for library staff
Quick Facts
In 2020, your gifts made possible 117 virtual programs for children, teens and adults viewed by more than 3,494.
WiFi Hotspots were made available for checkout.
The library shifted to curbside pick-up serving 9,208 curbside pick-up appointments.
When open, outside of COVID-19 restrictions, the library is able to offer Sundays hours throughout the school year thanks to generous donations and tributes
The SPLF contracts a volunteer coordinator to recruit, train, and schedule volunteers, who serve over 2,500 hours each year, freeing up the library staff to further assist library patrons.
