Meet Drew Arnold, SPLF Board Member
Drew Arnold grew up as an avid library user, fond of mysteries - especially the Hardy Boys series. He believes libraries are unique for the magic they conjure, the imaginations they stimulate and having the potential to encourage the next generation of writers. That’s why Drew has been a supporter of the SPLF for more than a decade – and why he decided to join its Board of Directors in 2023.
He has seen the evolution of libraries from book repositories to their current role in shaping communities. Whether it is the access a library provides to physical and e-books, or the educational and social programs held inside its walls, libraries are a core component of healthy thriving cities and towns.
Drew hopes to give back to both the library and the Stillwater community during his Board tenure; to help shape the evolution of the library as it adjusts in the digital world.
Drew and his wife, Laurie, moved back to the Stillwater area in 2004 and Drew retired recently from a career in bioinformatics that took him around the world. The Arnolds have two daughters who live on the East Coast. Currently, Scandinavian crime dramas keep his interest - Jo Nesbo, Camilla Lackberg, Sara Blaedel, Yrsa Sigurdardottir, Lars Kepler, Katrine Engberg; anything taking place in Sweden, Norway, Denmark and Iceland.
