Volunteers Make a Difference |
Library volunteers play a pivotal role in helping Stillwater Public Library run smoothly. From greeting patrons and pulling book lists to staffing the 4th floor greeter desk, alphabetizing and cleaning books, organizing donations, assisting with programs, and supporting special events—they do it all! |
| |
The invaluable services provided by volunteers are made possible through generous donations to the Stillwater Public Library Foundation which support the recruiting, training and management of volunteers. Susie Danielson, part-time Volunteer Coordinator for the Foundation, has over 10 years of experience in various roles at the Library. Susie's expertise managing and growing all aspects of the library volunteer program, including the Friends of the Stillwater Public Library Book Sale, is a tremendous asset for the Library. |
| Volunteering not only benefits the library, but it also allows individuals to give meaningfully of their time and talents, to both connect with their community and to make it a better place. It provides opportunities to build relationships, to learn new skills, and to increase fun and fulfillment in life.
I continue to be honored and grateful to work with these generous volunteers. Volunteers help create a stronger, more vibrant library!" Susie Danielson, Volunteer Coordinator |

Why I Give: A Donor's Story |
| I believe libraries are a critical resource and the mission of public libraries is an inspiration. Public libraries are open for everyone and free for all. They provide help if you need it, and are also a place for groups to gather, or for people to enjoy the peace of the library. Stillwater Public Library Foundation has a history of helping Stillwater Public Library and fulfilling its mission. Two examples are the Foundation’s support for library programming and Sunday hours. “Library programs are extremely valuable because they introduce the public to the rich resources of the library. Sunday hours are very popular with families and kids. Maureen Bell is a retired Librarian, Stillwater Public Library Trustee (2014-2022), former president of the Stillwater Public Library Board of Trustees (2019-2022), and Stillwater Public Library Foundation Donor. |
The Stillwater area community is rich with opportunities to support libraries, authors, reading, and education. In each newsletter we'll share a few opportunities that we think you might enjoy. |
